Patrick Bevin è il vincitore della terza tappa del Tour de Romandie 2022 disputata oggi con partenza ed arrivo a Valbroye sulla distanza complessiva di 165 chilometri. Il 31enne  corridore neozelandese della Israel Premier Tech ha beffeto nello sprint conclusivo Ethan Hayter (INEOS Grenadiers) - vicinissimo alla sua terza affermazione di tappa in questa corsa -  e Rohan Dennis (Jumbo-Visma). Damiano Caruso porta la Bahrain Victorius e il tricolore italiano in "top ten" conquistando il sesto posto

LA TAPPA – Dopo i  consueti timidi tentativi d’attacco portati da alcuni corridori poche pedalate dopo la partenza, la prima azione degna di nota della giornata è nata conclusa la prima ascesa a Dompierre grazie al coraggio di Krists Neilands della Israel - Premier Tech che ha preso il largo seguito dal campione di Francia Rémi Cavagna della Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team e Nans Peters della AG2R Citroën Team (leggi la riflessione del francese sulle radioline in corsa,ndr)

Il terzetto ha pedalato all’unisono comandando la corsa con Neilands, abile ad aggiudicarsi quattro dei sei GPM in programma e il secondo Traguardo Volante previsto dagli organizzatori; Rémi Cavagna, invece, si è imposto nel primo sprint intermedio della frazione. 

Il gruppo, condotto da Jumbo Visma e  INEOS Grenadiers  ha accusato un ritardo massimo di poco superiore a 4 minuti tornando compatto ai piedi della seconda ascesa a Dompierre (primo a transitare Amador), quando mancavano 19 chilometri al traguardo.

In vista della salita di Sédeilles, ultima asperità della tappa, è esplosa la bagarre: ha allungato Carlo Verona (Movistar Team), lo hanno imitato  Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates) e Gino Mäder (Bahrain – Victorious) ma poco dopo la Ineos e  Israel - Premier Tech hanno stoppato l’iniziativa. A -3 dalla conclusione il tentativo di Rein Taaramäe (Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux), bloccato ancora una volta dalla Ineos che sembrava pronta a lanciare Hayter. A scegliere il tempo giusto per lanciare lo sprint è stato però il portacolori della Israel Premier Tech che sulla linea ha potuto festeggiare la sua nona vittoria in carriera. 

Domani nella quarta tappa della corsa elvetica, i corridori saranno chiamati a pedalare per 180 chilometri partendo da Aigle fino a Zinal (Val d'Anniviers)  dove sarà posto il traguardo. Ad indossare la maglia di leader della generale sarà sempre Dennis.
