How to apply disc brake technology to the road has been a topic of heated discussion for years. Various standards have come and gone while riders have debated the positive and negative impacts of disc brakes on road bikes and on road cycling in general.
Canyon first explored the potential of road disc technology in 2006 with Projekt 6.8, a concept study with a full hydraulic braking system that tipped the scales bang on the UCI’s 6.8 kg minimum weight limit. Ten years on, we have reached a crossroads. Technology has caught up. We are no longer just dealing with concepts. Back in June 2016, we launched the Endurace CF SLX, the first model that enabled riders to experience our interpretation of how a disc brake road bike should perform.
Now, we can announce the expansion of our disc technology across the entire Canyon road range. All-new Aeroad CF SLX, Ultimate CF SLX, Ultimate CF SL, Endurace CF SLX and Endurace CF SL Disc models offer unparalleled Canyon
riding performance enhanced by levels of control only disc brakes can provide.Creating a complete range of disc-equipped road bikes was not simply a question of adapting our existing rim brake platforms. All models have been re-engineered from the ground up and thoroughly tested by our pro riders and engineers so that they offer the same ride and handling performance Canyon road bikes are known for.
