Arnaud Demare continua il filotto vincente iniziato al Giro d'Italia e si impone anche nella prima tappa della Route d'Occitaine, la Séméac-L’Isle Jourdain di 174 km.

La tappa è stata caratterizzata dall'azione promossa da Oscar Cabedo (Brgos BH), Wesley Mol (Bike Aid), Leo danes (Team U Nanetes Atlantique) e Jean Goubert (Nice Metropole) ma le squadre dei velocisti, in particolare la Groupama FDJ e la Trek Segafredo non hanno lasciato spazio.

Ricompattato il plotone nel finale, la Groupama ha pilotato le operazioni alal perfezione prtando Dedmare al susccesso davanti a Pierre Barbier (&B Hotels) ed Elia Vibiani (Ineos Grenadiers). Sesto posto per Davide Cimolai e settimo per Nicolò Bonifazio.
