Granfondo Campagnolo Roma, meccanismo consolidato all'estero ma poco
In London, over 120,000 cyclists participated in the most important cycling event in the world. Last Saturday and Sunday the British capital was the stage for Ride London which played out on the streets of the City and the West End, with a programme offering something for everyone; athletes (professional men and women), leisure and occasional cyclists of all ages. On the eve of Ride London, the World's Greatest Sportives were presented: Granfondo Campagnolo Roma, Cape Argus, Five Boros, New York and Etape di Tour de France. “We were invited by the organizers of Ride London to present the Roman event – stated Gianluca Santilli on his return from London – to the crowds present at the Ride London expo. We presented the characteristics of the Roman weekend which will take place on the second Sunday of October and I must say that our project was well received and there was huge enthusiasm for our video presentation showing the race start in the middle of Imperial Rome, which has no equal in the world. To cycle in the Eternal City, just like in Cape Town or on the roads of the Tour de France, London or in New York is a unique opportunity for all enthusiasts. The Granfondo Campagnolo Roma is appealing because it has something for everyone: Saturday we will have the “Ride Rome Fixed” and the “Tweed Ride – La Dolce Vita” in the centre of Rome, while Sunday the “Granfondo”, “In Bici ai Castelli” and “L’Imperiale – The Appian Way” will take place, starting from the Colosseum. There will also be races for children at the Imperial Forum. The epicentre will be at the Expo Village at the Stadium of the Baths of Caracalla in a truly spectacular setting. Together with the other organisers, we took a look at the characteristics that these top world events have in common. One of the initiatives that unite us, for example, is the our interest in raising money for charity”. The charity programme, introduced for the first time by the Granfondo Campagnolo Roma, is a popular mechanism abroad but is little known in Italy, It will allow participants to cycle, having fun, while helping those who suffer.
